Biodiesel

What is Biodiesel ?

Biodiesel is a natural fuel, produced from renewable sources, that can be used in diesel engined vehicles.

What is it made from?

Biodiesel can be made from many natural oils and fats, the most common being rape seed and vegetable oils. There are even cases where algae has been used successfully.

Is Biodiesel safe to use in my vehicle?

At present a blend of 5% mixed with petro-diesel is safe for all diesel powered trucks and cars, the only exception would be older vehicles mostly pre 1992. Blends of up to 20%can be used with little or no modifications (check with manufacturer)

Is Biodiesel safe to handle?

Fuels made from these natural oils and fats are biodegradeable and are classified as non – toxic, so they pose little or no health risks

Why should we use Biodiesel?

By using natural renewable sources, we will reduce our dependence on petroleum based products, at the same time reducing harmful gases into the atmosphere as Biodiesel produces up to 50% less CO (Carbon Monoxide),78% CO2(Carbon Dioxide) and reduces exhaust particulates by up to 65%.

How much is this going to cost me?

Although at present the cost of producing bio fuels is more expensive than petroleum products, with Government reductions in Excise Duty, the net prices are competitive with petro diesel.

Where can I buy Biodiesel?

Fuel Oils can supply bulk Biodiesel throughout London and the Home
Counties, Kent, Sussex and Essex areas.
